I had a productive trip to the city last Saturday.  I was able to set up the rental reservation for the table clothes, chafing dishes and other rental items.  The rental place was super busy when we first arrived.  I was polite and waited for the lady to get off the phone by giving her space.  Another lady came in after us and just sat right down in front of the lady, who promptly helped her when she got off the phone.  Instead of getting pissy about it, though, I remained calm and patiently waited another 10 minutes.  It all worked out.  The rental agreement is a little stiff – if we cancel we practically have to pay the full price anyway.  But we won’t cancel!

Then I was able pick up the table serve items from Party America.  It feels good to start gathering it all up. 

I expected to feel much more frantic at this point, but I really feel calm and collected.  I even have time to do all the homework that I just realized is due!

It was nice that so many of the family showed.  It was good to see them all and visit.  It seems to go so quickly, though, and there is never enough time for visiting.

Once again it was odd to receive so many presents.  I feel like I am “taking” from my family.  They all gave me such nice things.  I went home and put almost everything away, after showing John.  That was fun.

Tracy made an adorable “bouquet” out of the wrapping paper, tissue and bows.  it is really cute.

I feel fortunate to have such a wonderful family!  Especially my sister & sister-in-laws.  They take such good care of me and they made me feel very special.  I don’t feel like I can “repay” them.

Bear took the girls on a walk to Taco Bell.  The girls enjoyed that. They are lucky to have such a good uncle!

I started the Target registery on line but there were a few items that only the store had.  On Thursday, while killing time before the facial, I had time to wander Target and finish the registry. It was so much fun finding cool, little things, adding them to the scanner and thinking “I might get this.”

It really was a very pampering experience besides the jabbing in the face with a pointed object. The arm and neck and shoulder massage were heavenly. I’m looking forward to the one right before the wedding – it will be more relaxing.

The food was delicious (I hate to admit it, but especially the pulled pork – since I don’t usually eat pork)! And it was nice that almost everyone from work was there.
They did more than they should have in terms of gifts, though.

After everyone left June and her family brought out the puppies. They were all so sweet. Especially the 4 day old preemie puppies.
